The next major reason you should reduce electric blanket use is because it can generate a high electrical and electromagnetic field, in which you're sleeping. Or trying to. The body communicates electrically and high electrical or electromagnetic fields can cause insomnia restless or non-restful sleep that jumping feeling you sometimes get in muscles anxiety and Löschdecken sometimes nightmares.
However, if you are someone who is designated as a part of a Large fire blanket brigade and if you have been trained for it, you can assess the situation to see if one, the fire is something that you can handle and two, if you have the right extinguisher to the job.
To do this you will need your fire to be at the coals stage. That means that there are almost no flames apparent in the fire. The coals should be glowing red and putting off some good heat. Be careful not to let the coals grow too cool, or you may end up waiting and waiting in futility for the coffee water to reach the necessary temperature.

Most of today's vehicles have sound deadening engine covers that either clip, screw or bolt onto the engine. This will have to be removed in order to get to the spark plugs comfortably. Some vehicles have the spark plugs exposed with HT plug leads attached to them, others systems have supressors and coils bolted onto the engine tappet cover. Simply unbolt the coils and pull out the surpessors if fitted. Unplug the HT leads by pulling on the head of the lead and not on the lead itself to avoid damaging the lead. Once the covers or HT leads have been removed and the spark plugs are exposed we are able to unscrew the spark plugs using our special socket or adapter with a ratchet and extension if needed.
Having said that, the RV is also a mobile bomb carrying gallons of petrol or diesel and bottles of propane or calorgas. Therefore, you have to have clear safety measures in place and you have to know and follow them. Fire safety is of premium importance to the responsible RV driver.
An alternative to camp fire bathing is solar shower bathing. A 300 ft long garden hose on a black asphalt shed roof works great when the sun is out and the roof is hot. Cold spring fed water heats up fast when passing through a long a solar heated garden hose. This may not be a permanent solution to washing down an old hippie but it's useful during the preliminary stages of frontier construction. More advanced home made solar heating applications that use the greenhouse effect are possible, but let's get the roof nailed down before we make a serious connection with the sun.
